Shaping Ethical AI: The UK’s National Youth Challenge

Applicant Pack

    1. Applications open on Monday 12th January 2026 to submit your innovative design proposal.

    2. Final submission date for your design proposal 27th April 2026.

    3. Flexible 10 hour mentoring from 1st of July 2026 t0 28th of August 2026, where teams work with mentors from technology and ethics to refine their ideas ready to pitch their proposals.

    • Age: You must be 13–18 years old.

    • Location: Based in the UK.

    • Team size: Apply individually or in a team of up to three.

    • Cost: There are no financial costs to enter.

    • Entry: Application forms and instructions are in included in the applicant guide.

  • Our proposal will be reviewed by a panel of experts in technology, ethics and social innovation. Detailed criteria is provided in the applicant guide.
